Herbal Acai Bowl

02.05.2015

I had the chance to visit my favourite organic skin care company Neal’s Yard Remedies this week for a Juice Because event and sipped on a really delicious tea while listening to the story behind the juice. I love tea but this Neal’s Yard blend was made of dandelion, spearmint and nettle leafs. The perfect tea for detoxification before or after a juice cleanse or sipping during the day.

Nettle tea stimulates the lymph system, supports the adrenals, helps reduce inflammation and supports endocrine health. Dandelion tea is known as a detoxifier, blood cleanser and digestive aid. Our liver stores toxins as well as excess hormones and drinking dandelion tea or eating the leaves acts as a liver tonic.

Acai bowls are a favourite in our home but this recipe is special because it’s truly a little detoxification bowl. Simply steep the tea leafs, place it in a mason jar and refrigerate until cold and use the cold tea in smoothies instead of nut milks. It will give your smoothies a lovely flavour as well as a nutrition boost. While picking up your tea make sure to also pick up the acai powder from Neal’s Yard Remedies.
